On the Tuesday 5th of August I went back home to Dundee with my cousin Richard. He stayed with us for a month and we had several adventures, including staying for 2 or 3 nights in the Youth Hostel at Auchmithie, near Arbroath, Angus. (The hostel had started life as a hotel and reverted to being a hotel later - it has a commanding view from the top of the cliffs.) We spent many a happy hour exploring the caves, etc. Even in 1958, the harbour was showing the effects of years of being battered by the North Sea - see NEXT for pictures found on the internet for comparison.
