Introduction and Index

Jesus said, "This is how you should pray, "Our Father in heaven: may your holy name be honoured" - Matthew 6 v 9

Jesus said, "You are like light for the whole world. A city built on a hill cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and puts it under a bowl; instead he puts it on the lampstand, where it gives light for everyone in the house. In the same way, your light must shine before people, so that they will see the good things you do and praise your Father in heaven" - Matthew 5 v 14 - 16

Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come .... Our Lord and God! You are worthy to receive glory, honour and power. For you have created all things, and by your will they were given existence and life. - Revelation 4 v-8 &v 11

My Father in heaven! O how I wish your holy name was honoured by all. Alas! I hear it more as a swear-word than I hear it being used with reverence and praise. Yet you are honoured. The human race may rebel against you, but you are honoured by your creation. The very orderliness of the stars and the planets speak of your greatness. The seasons come and go at your command. Even the weather obeys you! All of your creation depends on you, and you do not let it down. You provide food for all your creatures - birds, animals, humans and fish alike. All of them depend on you.

The angels in heaven honour and worship you. The Christians of past ages - now with you in heaven - they, too honour and praise you. If only the human race would honour you as well! Please be honoured in my life. Teach me to be so grateful to you that I am full of your praise. Be honoured, too, in the way I behave, in how and what I speak, that others may know I am your child and learn to honour you too.
