Introduction and Index

Come to me, all of you who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke and put it on you, and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in spirit; and you will find rest. For the yoke I will give you is easy, and the load I will put on you is light. - Matthew 11 v 28 - 30

Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father is pleased to give you the Kingdom. - Luke 12 v 32

To him who is able to keep you from falling, and bring you faultless before his glorious presence - to the only God our Saviour, through Christ Jesus our Lord, be glory, majesty, might, and authority, from all ages past, and now, and for ever and ever! Amen. - Jude 24 - 25

Thank you, Lord Jesus, that you invite me to come to you just as I am - with all my problems and failings. I stagger along under a load of worries. I am oppressed by the sense of failure. I struggle with my guilty past. I hardly dare think about the future because I am sure I cannot cope.

I desperately need the rest you promise. Please take the load of guilt and anxiety from me. Assure me of forgiveness and acceptance. Give me peace within. I put my future in your strong hands, believing that you really are able to keep me from stumbling and falling, that you will at the last bring me into the presence of God your Father free from all sin and failure.
