The peace that Christ gives is to guide you in the decisions you make; for it is to this peace that God has called you together in the one body. And be thankful. Christ's message in all its richness must live in your hearts. Teach and instruct each other with all wisdom. Sing psalms, hymns, and sacred songs; sing to God with thanksgiving in your hearts. - Colossians 3 v 15 - 77
Don't worry about anything, but in all your prayers ask God for what you need, always asking him with a thankful heart. And God's peace, which is far beyond human understanding, will keep your hearts and minds safe in union with Christ Jesus. Philippians 4 v 6 - 7
Almighty God, in this world where everything seems to be so subject to change, I am so glad I can turn to you, knowing that you do not change. You are totally dependable. Your love will never fade. So I come to you now to thank you for the way you have shown me just how much you do love me by giving me the Lord Jesus. Thank you that he loved me enough to come from heaven to teach me about your love, to show how far that love was prepared to go to win me back to yourself, and how he is all-powerful. Even death could not keep him - he rose to life again. Being loved like that makes me so happy. I know that whatever life may bring, you will never let me down. You will be there for me through thick and thin. I can trust you, both for time and eternity. Teach me not to worry about the future. It is, of course, unknown to me, but you know all that lies ahead of me. Just persuade me that you will be with me every step of life's journey - that you'll be there in the sad times as well as the happy ones, that even in the darkest hours you will be there, that I will always be in your safe-keeping. With such a love and such assurance, I will be able to meet the future head-on, knowing you will never let me down.
